Why the early opening?
Immersion in water is one of the most effective ways to cool your core temperature and reduce the risk of heat-related illness during extreme heat. The early opening is part of the City’s heat-relief strategy, backed by funding to extend the pool season and daily hours — with new guidelines to keep pools open on very hot days.
